Meaning in graphics work
A passkey is a public-key authentication credential used through an appropriate supported mechanism. It can let a user sign in without transmitting a reusable password to the service.
It differs from a magic link, an account role or permission to read a project. Authentication security depends on the full implementation, recovery and session handling.
Example and practical consequence
An organisation adopting passkey sign-in still needs an account-recovery process and current grants for artwork, budgets and exports. A successful credential check does not make every collaborator an approver.
Use the maintained identity provider's supported integration and consult current security guidance. Preserve exact relying-party/origin configuration and avoid claims that any single credential removes all risks. Public planning tools do not require a passkey, while private work must use the actual commissioned identity system rather than a simulated sign-in control.

- Treat passkeys as authentication, with separate recovery and access policies.
