The skill and its purpose
An assistant’s recommendation is content to evaluate. It is not a new authority to spend, send files, grant access or replace approved artwork. A proposed action should expose its object, current version, recipient and consequence so the authorised person can make a meaningful decision. OWASP’s prompt-injection guidance places tool permission checks outside model judgement. In this public learning exercise no assistant tool execution, shared access grant or supplier instruction is connected; use a fictional action packet to practise the decision.
Work through the decision
Write an action preview naming the project, requested operation, files or records affected, recipient scope and relevant cost or timing reference. Link the current decisions that support it and list remaining gates. Check whether the requester has authority for this particular effect, not merely access to the brief. Ask for a new review if a material input changes after approval. Keep a recorded approval distinct from confirmation that an external action completed. For a commissioned integration, obtain the provider’s tested enforcement and failure behaviour before allowing state-changing tools to operate.
Practical exercise — fictional
In a fictional campaign, an answer proposes emailing proof P9 and a private quotation to every branch contact. The brand owner can approve P9 wording but cannot disclose commercial pricing to that audience. Create an action packet that separates the proof review from the quotation disclosure. Remove the private attachment from the branch packet, identify the legitimate commercial reviewer and leave both messages as drafts. Then replace P9 with P10 and describe why the earlier approval reference must be checked for applicability rather than copied without review.
Take it to the next job
- Preview the object, version, recipient and effect.
- Check authority for each material disclosure or change.
- Re-review changed files and action details.
- Record approval separately from execution confirmation.
Try the decision
The exercise stays in this session unless you choose to save it.
