The skill and its purpose
Different approval classes answer different questions. A content reviewer can confirm wording, a brand reviewer can assess appearance, a competent provider can accept production requirements, and a buyer can authorise external commitment. One person may hold several roles, but the recorded decisions should still state which scope was assessed. A screen preview does not answer every physical or commercial question.
Work through the decision
Create a review matrix listing the relevant classes, named authority, exact version and open conditions. Ask each reviewer for a decision within their scope. Record conditional approval visibly and prevent unresolved conditions from becoming a release by implication. When a change occurs, identify which classes are affected and request their renewed decisions rather than flattening every status into one tick.
Practical exercise — fictional
A fictional buyer approves the cost while a brand manager approves the wording. The provider has not confirmed a finishing detail. Build three rows and show why the job still lacks technical acceptance. Describe the information needed to close that gate and which decision must be reviewed if the finishing choice changes the visible artwork.
Take it to the next job
- List the actual approval classes required.
- Name authority and version for each decision.
- Keep conditions visible until resolved.
- Reopen the classes affected by a change.
Try the decision
The exercise stays in this session unless you choose to save it.
