Meaning in graphics work
Font embedding places permitted font information within a document so that the receiving workflow can reproduce its text without depending entirely on a local installation.
Embedding is different from converting text to outlines. Licensing restrictions and export settings can affect what is included, and an embedded font does not prove all text is correct.
Example and practical consequence
A supplier opening an approved PDF needs the intended letterforms to remain stable. A document using unembedded text may render differently if the supplier's system substitutes another font.
Check the actual exported PDF's font information and the relevant permission terms. Preserve the original editable text separately when outlines are supplied, and recheck content after conversion. Do not assume that a file opened successfully on its creator's computer will behave identically in another production environment.

- Verify exported font status and preserve editable text separately.
