Meaning in graphics work
A corrective action is an agreed response intended to address an identified problem and its relevant cause. It should have an owner, due condition and evidence of effectiveness.
It differs from closing a support ticket or merely acknowledging a complaint. Replacing one faulty item may be a correction without resolving the underlying workflow issue.
Example and practical consequence
If obsolete artwork reached a branch, a corrective action might revise version checks as well as arrange the proper graphic. The replacement's dispatch alone does not demonstrate that the preventive change works.
Record the problem, scope and actual action, and check the intended outcome through attributable evidence. Keep unresolved parts visible rather than declare satisfaction automatically. A useful action improves the process or physical result while preserving the original discrepancy and the responsibilities accepted by the relevant parties.
