Meaning in graphics work
Availability describes whether a resource can actually be used for a stated purpose and interval, subject to its condition, allocation and relevant constraints.
It differs from an asset existing in a register. Ownership, storage presence and a calendar gap do not prove serviceable condition or complete components.
Example and practical consequence
A display may have returned from an event but still need inspection or a missing part replaced. It should not become ready merely because the scheduled return date has passed.
Link availability to actual custody, condition and required repair evidence. Keep unknown, reserved, quarantined and ready states distinct, and identify who can confirm each change. This prevents planning tools from turning an expected return into physical confirmation and makes the next campaign depend on the equipment's actual resulting state rather than a convenient assumption.
