Understand the construction
Aluminium display extrusions are profiles formed with a defined cross-sectional shape for frames, channels or other display components. The extrusion's geometry and supplied grade identify its role; aluminium as a material name does not make profiles mutually compatible.
For a reusable frame with changeable graphics, consider how corners join, how the graphic is retained and which parts must remain available for future replacement. Two visually similar channels may require different graphic edges or connector components.
Specify the actual job
Specify the manufacturer's system, profile identifiers, finish, section dimensions and connector details. Show assembled geometry, support and any load-bearing function. Ask the system provider for compatible graphic construction and assembly instructions rather than guessing from a photograph of the channel.
Limits and evidence
Do not derive allowable loads, stability or repeated assembly life from metal type alone. Cutting, drilled features, mismatched connectors and an unsuitable base can change the frame. A modular-looking extrusion does not prove interchangeable parts, separability of every finish or an accepted recycling route.
Obtain current system documentation and the actual component inventory. For safety-related support or mounting, have the responsible provider confirm the design for the intended location. Keep recycled content, repair availability and future replacements supported by real product or service information.
Next useful action
Use the reuse planner to distinguish retained profiles from campaign-specific faces and lost or damaged parts. Record identifiers and assembly instructions with the frame so future graphic orders can use the actual compatible dimensions and edge treatment.
